Welcome to “My Happy Place” - I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Melissa and I have been a licensed professional for the last 12 years. Since I was very young, I was always drawn to doing hair! Growing up with family members in the industry, I got to experience firsthand what it was like to work in a salon. This eventually inspired me to go to cosmetology school in 2011. After earning my license, I decided to go to business school because my dream was to own my own salon one day!

My journey has been a lot of experiences, from not only working in multiple salons, but wellness centers and yoga studios which ultimately led to my interest in holistic beauty and wellness.

In the midst of the 2020 lockdown, I stumbled upon Japanese scalp treatments, a unique practice I had never even heard of before. Years leading up to this discovery, I had already done countless research on scalp health, skin conditions and all natural ingredients that can effectively benefit the hair and scalp. I truly believe all my experiences have pointed me in this direction for a reason!

Being the first to introduce this service in Rochester, I'm thrilled to share my expertise and educate clients on nurturing their hair and achieving their goals. My commitment extends beyond just hairstyling. I've delved into the world of organic products, focusing on natural and clean alternatives for a healthier you. My approach to hairstyling, cutting and coloring are a reflection of my roots as well- natural, lived in and effortless styles.

When I'm not behind the chair, you'll find me at home with my husband, Matt, and our fur baby Maddie! If you know me, you know my FAVORITE thing to do is thrift shopping. And as a big foodie, I’ll never say no to trying a new restaurant!
